Gallo-roman remains of the "Villa d'Antone" in Pierre-Buffière
The Gallo-Roman Villa is situated on a plateau, above the Briance and Blanzou rivers, facing Pierre Buffière. The remains, date back (2.000 years ago) to the first century, and the beginning of Christianity.
The Villa was built during the Antonin dynasty and
probably functioned for 3 centuries.
BORN THERE TWO THOUSAND YEARS
Over the site, there are a vast sequence of buildings.
Currently we can find the remains of the Villa thanks
the work of volunteers from the association, but also
the involvement of the DRAC that provides expertise,
guidance and control the work.
